Going Green features a familiar sight to anyone who grew up on a farm and accompanied a parent to the John Deere dealership. This beautiful cast aluminum pedal car was only available at John Deere and looked just like dad’s - the perfect toy for the future farmer.
I love to find toys for my painting that show the effects of years of playtime. This tractor, in particular, was well-loved - so much so that the green paint has worn off in places to reveal the metal underneath.
I wanted the feel of Going Green to be mellow, like a pleasant bit of memory. To achieve this feel, I kept the lighting muted and the setting understated (such as the polished concrete floor, light-colored background, and the weathered box).
In portraits of beloved objects such as this one, I often put boxes in the composition - not just to bolster a scene, but also as a metaphor for how we as adults “pack away” childhood emotions of play and fun. It is my hope that, through my art, you are able to recapture these feelings. Let’s play!

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your artwork, you may return it within 14 days of receipt and receive a free replacement or a full refund for the price of the product. The artwork must be returned, undamaged. Return shipping cost is at the customer’s expense; and we ask that you insure the artwork for return. We cannot accept returns on custom artwork or commissions.
WHAT IF MY PRINT ARRIVES DAMAGED?
if your print arrives at your door and the box is damaged, please contact me immediately. Before opening your order, YOU MUST PHOTOGRAPH the damaged package. Then open the package to see if your artwork is damaged. Often, despite damage to the box, the print is in good condition. However, if it is damaged, please photograph the damage and email me the photo. I will then begin the shipping claim and start your replacement order.
