Calling all wave riders! My newest print, Fun in the Sun, depicts a VW bus and trailer all ready for a few days at the shore. I purposely left the setting ambiguous (California? Florida? South Texas? Hawaii?) so that a memory of your favorite beach hideaway can finish the story.
The chalkboard backdrop is one of my favorite artistic methods to introduce dialogue into the still life setting. To get that dusty, chalky texture, I drew on the painted surface with white oil pastels, smudged the elements, and then re-drew the key elements of the scene like the palm trees and the seagulls.
The postcard with blue painter’s tape was painted in the trompe l'oeil style, a visual illusion where the painted object looks real. (I’ve had people at art shows peer around to the side of a canvas to see if paper and tape are actually stuck on.)
The VW bus and trailer are contemporary toys that I found on ebay. The actual size of them is very small - so I had to enlarge the set to get them in the right proportion with the postcard.

The artwork must be returned, undamaged. Return shipping cost is at the customer’s expense; and we ask that you insure the artwork for return. WHAT IF MY PRINT ARRIVES DAMAGED?
if your print arrives at your door and the box is damaged, please contact me immediately. Before opening your order, YOU MUST PHOTOGRAPH the damaged package. Then open the package to see if your artwork is damaged. Often, despite damage to the box, the print is in good condition. However, if it is damaged, please photograph the damage and email me the photo. I will then begin the shipping claim and start your replacement order.
CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?
