Car Wash began through happenstance. I was getting tired of tripping over all the toy trucks I had in my small studio, so I hung them by string from one of my wire drying racks to get them out of the the way.
Over the next few days, it occurred to me that there was a painting there of cars hung out to dry. At that point, I realized that if the cars were wet, the colors would run. Car Wash has become one of my signature paintings.
Car Wash features dynamic abstract art elements, meant to be enjoyed as expressions of color, shape, and line, along the lines of the work of abstract expressionist Mark Rothko (1903-1970).
Just look at how the block of dark brown and the thin white line with tan rectangles provides visual interest. From there, they eye moves to the cars and the wash of colors below each one. The background was created with multiple thin layers to add richness and depth.
Car Wash is part of my popular series of Hanging Cars and was featured in a 2012 article about my work inSouthwest Art magazine.

The artwork must be returned, undamaged. Return shipping cost is at the customer’s expense; and we ask that you insure the artwork for return. We cannot accept returns on custom artwork or commissions.
WHAT IF MY PRINT ARRIVES DAMAGED?
if your print arrives at your door and the box is damaged, please contact me immediately. Before opening your order, YOU MUST PHOTOGRAPH the damaged package. Then open the package to see if your artwork is damaged. Often, despite damage to the box, the print is in good condition. However, if it is damaged, please photograph the damage and email me the photo. I will then begin the shipping claim and start your replacement order.
CAN I CANCEL MY ORDER?
