Visual wordplay - perfect for the kitchen or bar
Like its companion piece, Vintage Red, Vintage White features a pun-tastic take on the standard issue still life of grapes in a bowl. Here, the grapes, antique toy truck, and bit of wordplay provide a conversation piece that invites viewers to put all the pieces together.
The Wyandotte toy company made these trucks from 1930s-1950s. They would reuse the body style and change the paint job - even offering pastels for Easter. Companies of the era would buy the toys wholesale and use them for promotions and giveaways.
I own several Wyandotte trucks in many colors, but will paint the trucks in different colors if needed for a composition. Vintage White is an example - the original truck has a red body and blue bed (as seen in Vintage Red.)
