A Salt with a Deadly Weapon

    • Puntastic humor for the serious cook

I had the idea for A Salt with a Deadly Weapon a few years ago during the Dexter TV show craze. My wife Sharon and I sat in the studio and laughed, flinging the “killer” puns back-and-forth as I set up this scene.
    • The background for A Salt with a Deadly Weapon was made with abstract techniques. Combining traditional still life with abstract methods allows me to give the realism collector something unconventional - plus it was great fun to make the tomato sauce-colored splatters on the canvas instead of painting each droplet with a tiny brush.

      Other details

One of my favorite anecdotes is about a visit I received at an art show from a gentlemen who said: “What do you have for an attorney?” Naturally, I showed him A Salt with a Deadly Weapon and Cereal Killer. He laughed and bought them both; last I heard, he uses them in a slideshow of attorney training.
