This bee is high on hugs and kisses
I don’t mean to “wax” poetic, but BeLoved is another in my series of bee images that represent the wonders of love. Gift your honey with this towering testament of your affection and watch their heart flutter.
BeLoved takes a cue from the staging of live theater. Our buzzy friend is spotlighted, front and center, to draw the viewer’s attention. The background remains purposely dark, not only to keep focus on the subject but also to provide a bold backdrop that heightens the drama.
The scene is constructed with a vertical orientation that pulls the eye down from the top of the anntenae down through the image. Notice how the vivid reflection serves to further elongate the scene.
“Buzzy Bee” was a popular toy made by Fisher Price in the 1950s and features lovely lithographed paper printing of the bee’s face and body. The vintage honey can is from the same era.
